Application conditions
All surfaces to be painted must be dry, the moisture content of the wood below 20%, the temperature of the air at least +5°C, and the relative humidity of the air below 80%.
Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from grease, dirt, salts, all loose material and surface contamination. Use recommended Tikkurila products for mould removal and cleaning. Ensure that surfaces to be painted are bonded to the substrates. Re-render or repair all areas of failure, cracks, holes, etc., with either a suitable Tikkurila repair mortar or cement mortar. (Use only recommended concrete repair products for repairing concrete.) Polished or glassy concrete surfaces should be mechanically abraded. Glossy and gloss painted surfaces should be thoroughly flatted down. Note: The relative humidity of concrete and cement-rich substrates should be less than 90% prior to priming and painting.
Prime all new and old unpainted concrete and cement rendered substrates with Finngard Primer S. Prime all previously painted concrete and cement rendered surfaces that are in poor condition (i.e. porous or friable) with Finngard Primer S. Prime very absorbent surfaces with Finngard Primer S using wet-on-wet method of application. Prime all bare wood with Otex Adhesion Primer or Öljypohja wood primer and bare metal with Rostex Super Metal Primer.

Stir the paint thoroughly and apply two coats of Finngard Opaque overall.

Cleaning of tools
Clean with water immediately after use.
Maintenance instructions
After painting the surfaces must be handled with care, because the paint will achieve its final hardness and durability after 4 weeks under normal conditions. Soon after treatment the surfaces can be cleansed lightly with soft brush, damp cleaning cloth or mop.
Earliest one month after painting dirty surfaces can be cleaned with Tikkurila Huoltopesu (1 part Huoltopesu, 10 parts water). Clean stains and very dirty surfaces with a stronger solution of Huoltopesu (1:1). After washing rinse surfaces and allow to dry.
Maintenance treatment
Depending upon exposure and elevation one coat of Finngard Opaque is normally sufficient after 15 years.
