Preparation
Luke designed an original mural in close collaboration with the client, ensuring the mural was as personalised as possible. Firstly, the walls were washed down, and any imperfections were filled. With the surface now smooth, it was time to free-hand sketch the shapes and silhouettes; then, using Deltec Gold, each shape was taped off and ready for paint.
Painting
The ceiling was painted with Anti-Reflex White 2. This paint is popular as it eliminates flashing, removes imperfections and leaves behind a perfect deep matt surface. A benefit of painting ceilings with Anti-Reflex is the Matt Xtreme Technology, which prevents drips and splatters.
The client requested custom colours for the walls, so Tikkurila's state-of-the-art colour-matching technology was utilised to tint Optiva 5. This highly durable wall paint is perfect for high-traffic areas as it is scrub, dirt and dust resistant.
