We continuously develop our products and choose high-quality raw materials carefully.
For us at Tikkurila, one of the key components in our fight to become sustainable is providing highly durable paint films.
The quality of products translates to increased durability ensuring longer maintenance painting intervals. This is a single, basic and important first step in reducing the environmental impact of paints and coatings. With the rapid evolution of water based technology we are now in a position where Tikkurila water based systems are as a rule more durable than hydrocarbon based.

Examples
- Valtti Plus Kesto stain - Our water-based product designed for wooden surfaces has a maintenance interval that is twice as long as typical stains.
- Joker - A high performance, matt emulsion paint The Allergy, Skin, and Asthma Federation of Finland has given the solvent-free paint the right to use their label. The paint has also been assigned the Swan label, the EU Ecolabel, and the M1 classification, indicating that it has low emissions.
Protecting the environment
For decades, we have worked diligently to protect the environment. It is an honour for us to be the forerunners of healthy painting, surface care, and colour use.
We don't only meet the bare minimum of environmental and safety standards; we go above and beyond to study and reduce our products' environmental and health impacts.
