The paint covers discolorations of the surface and protects the substrate damaged by moisture.  Highly recommended for priming walls and ceilings in bathrooms, kitchens, staircases and corridors.  Can be overcoated with alkyd products.

Easy to apply

The paint is easy to apply.  Due to its thixotropic nature it does not drip or sag on the vertical surface.

Description
Alkyd primer for wood
Product features

Matt alkyd paint for priming of raw wood surfaces, dry concrete, plaster, surfaces treated with putty, bricks, gypsum and also surfaces previously painted with lime or glue coats. Tikkurila Everal Primer insulates discolorations coming from substrate and protects substrates damaged by humidity and humid stains. The paint features thixotropic consistence and for that reason does not run off vertical surfaces.

Recommended uses
The paint is intended for priming of raw wooden interior surfaces, as doors, furniture, windows and door frames. The product is also suitable for priming of walls and ceilings in bathrooms, kitchens, staircases and corridors before finishing with alkyd enamels.

APPLICATION DETAILS
Application conditions
Painting works carried out at a temperature from +5°C to +25°C and relative air humidity below 80%.
Preparation
Surface must be clean, dry and free from grease, dust and loose paint elements.

Previously painted surfaces:
wash with suitable agent, then rinse with water and leave to dry. Remove scaling fragments of old coatings with scraper. Hard and smooth surfaces must be ground with sand paper, then remove dust accurately.
Diluting
TIKKURILA EVERAL THINNER 1050.
Painting
Apply 1-2 coats using brush, roller and spray. For spraying the paint must be diluted to required viscosity with Tikkurila Everal Thinner 1050, by adding 10% vol. of the thinner. To obtain a smoother surface it is recommended to work the surface with sand paper before painting. It is recommended to use ANZA painting tools.
Cleaning of tools
Before washing tools should be thoroughly wiped in order to remove as much paint. Clean tools with Tikkurila Everal Thinner 1050 or white spirit immediately after the completion of the work.

Instructions

Consumption varies depending on the surface to be treated and its condition. Absorption is affected e.g. by the surface roughness, moisture content level of timber and porosity. For example, log surface that has been untreated for a long time takes a lot more wood finish than a new surface to be treated.

When calculating the consumption, note that the consumption for round logs is 1.5 times higher than normal. Please also note the corner joints in the surface area.

Rounding up

As the filling rate is usually 90% (space for tinting), it is good to round up the liter amounts and reserve enough of the product so that the work is not interrupted unnecessarily, and colour will be even.
