Ultra Lux - House paint
Ultra Lux is a gloss microporous high performance, flexible polyacrylate waterborne paint for wood. Ultra offers the highest level of durability for timber surfaces in the Tikkurila range. Ultra is available in matt, semi-matt and gloss finishes.For the painting of untreated, factory-primed surfaces or surfaces treated earlier with exterior wood surface paints. Also for finishing painting at site according to Tikkurila ProHouse concept.

Remove dirt, mould and loose particles from the surface. Wash down dirty and mouldy surfaces with Tikkurila Mould Removal solution according to the instructions. Prime with Valtti Pohjuste or Valtti Akvabase priming oil in as early construction phase as possible. Protect rusting metal parts like nail heads with Rostex Super anti-corrosion paint. Remove loose resin from knots. Prime surfaces once with Ultra Primer or Öljypohja Oil Primer. Finish with Ultra Lux House Paint 1-2 times. Treat the end grains carefully.
Factory- primed and previously treated surfaces:
Remove dirt, mould and loose particles from the surfaces. Remove loose paint with scraper and brush the surface clean with a steel brush. Wash down dirty and mouldy surfaces with Tikkurila Mould Removal according to the instructions. Treat bare wooden surfaces with Valtti Pohjuste or Valtti Akvabase priming oil and prime them once with Ultra Primer or Öljypohja Oil Primer.
Treat factory-primed surfaces in good condition with Ultra Primer (factory-primed surfaces that have been exposed to weathering over 10 months should be treated with Öljypohja Oil Primer), then finish with Ultra Lux House Paint 1-2 times.
Treat surfaces previously painted with oil paint or acrylate paint 1-2 times with Ultra Lux House Paint. If the old surface is worn out, prime the old oil paint surface with Öljypohja Oil Primer, and the old acrylate paint surface with Ultra Primer. Finish with Ultra Lux House Paint.
Earliest after 1 month from painting a soiled surface can be cleaned with Huoltopesu (1 part of Huoltopesu to 10 parts of water). Clean stains and very dirty surfaces with a stronger Huoltopesu solution (1:1). Rinse well and allow to dry.

InstructionsConsumption varies depending on the surface to be treated and its condition. Absorption is affected e.g. by the surface roughness, moisture content level of timber and porosity. For example, log surface that has been untreated for a long time takes a lot more wood finish than a new surface to be treated.
When calculating the consumption, note that the consumption for round logs is 1.5 times higher than normal. Please also note the corner joints in the surface area.
