Room painted with a pale cream shade

When it comes to picking a colour for a classic transformation, cream and white tie for the most timeless option. Pure white certainly has its pristine benefits, but nothing beats the luxurious quality and depth that cream paints provide.

Cream hues have a subtle warmth about them, bringing energy to any living room, bedroom or dining space. In fact, whatever room you use them in, creams are guaranteed to work. You can stick to simple decor schemes if you’re after a no-frills refresh, or use premium furnishings and accessories to accentuate the luxurious qualities of cream.

A cream room pairs nicely with marble surfaces, while yellow-infused creams can be complemented with golden hues and designer metallics. Looking to reflect light around a smaller space? Just like white, creams will do that.

Are you eager to see what the different shades we have available in our range? Whatever painting project you have lined up, you’re sure to find a gorgeous cream tone for your walls in our range.

Our Seven Favourite Cream Paint Colours

Need something simple for living rooms? Perhaps you’re looking to pair an existing colour scheme with cream as a warm accent? Below, we’ve chosen seven of the best cream shades in our collection for you to consider.

It might be a little lighter than the tropical favourites it’s named for, but this premium cream paint definitely evokes a feeling of luxury. A creamy white with gorgeous undertones of yellow, Coconut Y456 strikes the right balance between classic simplicity and refined elegance.

You can use this stunning shade on its own if you’d prefer. It’s a fairly light hue, but it holds up well as an all-wall colour. However, to pull off the premium luxury that cream is capable of, you should really think about adding layers of colour. A slightly darker cream can be used to add depth to your walls, while a medium brown can be brought in to achieve a more extreme version of this effect. For a feminine space rich in sophisticated tones, consider inviting in jewel colours or a blush palette instead.

Searching for something similar? Why not give Merino Y458 a chance? This creamy white is infused with warm undertones, resulting in a dramatic colour that’s reminiscent of a rich nude or cosmetic pink. It’s warm but not overwhelming, refined but not indulgent. You can use it quite liberally, without feeling like a space is being engulfed by a single, smooth shade.

The obvious place to use this shade is the bedroom. It will work nicely with ornate bed frames, sumptuous throws and deep-pile carpets. However, it would be a shame to leave this cream shade out of view upstairs. Why not try it in your living room if you’ve always talked about trying out a luxe makeover? You can balance things out with earthy shades, so try taupe and tan when choosing sofa upholstery and fabrics.

While this cream hue might look like a rich pink at first glance, we’re actually looking at another cream colour from our collection. Champignon G467 is a soft almond hue that’s a gorgeous take on classic cream. It has a smooth quality that makes it ideal for bedrooms or elegant living spaces.

It’s a bit richer than some of our other creams, so be careful not to spoil your appetite for this stunning colour family by using too much of it. The best approach with a sultry shade like this is moderation. Try adding it in equal measure to a more low-key peach or conventional cream hue. You could even balance it out with a darker shade. A shaded taupe will work nicely alongside this creamy almond, as will a pink-infused brown.

With Semolina G398, you have a fresh and vibrant cream that’s perfect for bringing some life back to your home. It’s one of our more versatile cream hues, so there’s no limit to what you can do with it. Does your kitchen need a new lick of paint? This warm cream works well in modern cooking spaces, as well as more traditional kitchens. Does your dining room deserve some design treatment? The rich notes of this sunny cream will look wonderful next to a hardwood table.

Youll also find that this cream is very versatile. It works well with other cream shades for tonal finishes, but also sits beautifully alongside other hues. Put it alongside cool grey for a contemporary two-tone room, or bring in shades of blue for a more modern pairing.

With a coat or two of Parmesan F302, you can return a tired room to its former glory. Light and creamy, this paint shade is bolstered by a hint of summertime yellow. It’s a great shade for stirring tired minds into action in the morning, so reach for this if your kitchen diner or breakfast rooms need reviving.

As it’s a lighter shade, you can also combine it with darker hues for tonal decorating. Put it with pastels or pair it with mustard-tinged creams. Alternatively, move beyond the yellow spectrum and start playing around with classic complements like grey or an off-white paint colour

For a more intense cream, try something like Noodle G395. It might be light, but this creamy yellow is fairly saturated. It’s a beautiful balance of colour intensity and simplicity, making it perfect for giving a tired room an essential refresh.

When pulling a room decor scheme together, the best advice with this head is to keep things simple. Pure white or neutral shades are good choices of accent colours if you’re decorating with this cream. For a more tonal interior, think about experimenting with shaded oranges or soft sherbets instead.

Finally, we have Cocoa Butter F392. A light and alluring shade of cream, this is one of our warmer colours. Because of its inviting qualities, it works well in living rooms, hallways and bedrooms.

It’s light, but not still defined enough that you couldn't easily use this as a primary colour without the need for accents. However, any good cream starts to shine with some backup. Use muted pastels if you want to go with a lighter accent. For a darker design approach, try honeyed tones, syrupy oranges or golden yellows.

Where Do Cream Paint Colours Work Best?

Because it’s so easygoing and versatile, cream can be used in any room. Most commonly, it’s used as a neutral backdrop for bedrooms. As well as boasting the same blank canvas benefits as white, cream carries an air of luxury. You can give the impression of designer-level sophistication with just a few savvy colour choices alone.

The same design logic can be applied to living rooms. White walls aren’t really that practical in busy households, but cream ones provide you with a more durable alternative. Less likely to tarnish and require constant touch-ups, cream tones can also be carefully coordinated with other accents in your home.

Are you searching for a colour scheme to tie your home together? Many people use an assortment of cream shades to decorate every room of their house. This connective approach to colour works remarkably well in open-plan interiors, but can also be used in traditional properties. You only need a handful of cream hues to pull this one off. Done right, it can add an understated elegance to every square inch of your home, while binding disparate rooms and decor variations together nicely.
