The Good Fella’s Furniture Co. specialise in manufacturing custom wood interiors from solid oak and pine. In this case study, we’ll look into a project that reflects their expert craftsmanship: a boot room unit entirely bespoke in all its details.
Before and After

Preparation & Priming
As the main function of this unit is to store coats and shoes, it was important that the wood was prepared for this task. To ensure that the oak can withstand moisture and dirt, priming is key.
Once each piece of wood was cut and then sanded entirely smooth, Helmi Primer was applied to protect and provide a perfect surface for the final top coat.
Painting

With the oak sanded and primed, it was time to paint using a durable finish. Helmi 10 was chosen for this unit due to its hard-wearing matt finish. As this project was entirely custom from start to finish, even the final top coat was customised by using Tikkulrila's Colour Matching Service.
