In collaboration with @nordiclivingincolour.
We collaborated with Anne from @nordiclivingincolour on her recent decorating project, transforming a loft room into a vibrant terracotta office for her husband. Wanting to give the cool-toned light blue space a refresh, Anne found the perfect terracotta shade in our Feel the Colour palette, which incorporates rich orange hues and offers a modern and earthy look to the interiors. Read on to follow the whole redecorating process, from colour selection to adding the final touches, creating an office space full of personality and warmth.
Colour Selection
As with any decorating project, colour selection is often the first step. Anne was after a vibrant and inspiring colour for the office that would add warmth to the space. For this reason, she explored a variety of vivid colours, including pinks, oranges and reds, directly testing the selected shades on the wall, getting a real view of what the colours would look like in the natural light. Our earthy red Terracotta N405 was then chosen as the contrasting colour to the white ceiling and woodwork.
Terracotta N405 is one of the key colours in our Nostalgic palette, part of the Feel the Colour Collection; a carefully curated collection of six pre-made palettes for interior decorating. Terracotta N405 is a rich, warm and tactile colour that brings energy to interiors. The perfect partner to a variety of shades; from neutral creams and whites for a contemporary finish, to earthy greens and yellows for warmth and harmony.

The painting process
With the perfect colours chosen to enliven this office space, next it was time to select the right paint for the project. We have an extensive range of interior paints, from wall and ceiling paint to more challenging areas of the home like tiles and radiators. Walls & Ceiling
Anne chose our eco-friendly, matt Joker to paint the office walls and ceiling. This water-based and high-performance emulsion has a great hiding power, perfectly masking any imperfections, leaving a smooth, matt finish. An ideal solution for painting over a previous topcoat without having to strip and sand the wall. And with the multiple eco awards that it bears, Joker is a safe paint choice for any home.

Woodwork & Shelving Unit
For the wooden surfaces in the office, Anne selected our go-to paint system for interior woodwork, Helmi. Starting off with the primer, a coat of Helmi Primer was applied to the previously painted trim, door and shelves, creating a fresh and smooth base for the topcoat. Our matt Helmi Primer is ideal for priming previously painted woodwork as it helps the paint adhere to the surface.
Once dry, it was time for the fun part - painting! Our water-based Helmi paint is available in three different sheen levels, matt (10), semi-matt (30) and gloss (80). Anne was looking for a luxurious finish for her woodwork that was not too matt but also not overly glossy. She picked our semi-matt Helmi 30 paint, which offers a satin, low lustre look.

Once finished painting, she complemented the terracotta walls with fun retro wallpaper in similar colour, added a few rattan accents to incorporate the on-trend bohemian style and finished by adding lots of green plants for an extra pop of colour in the space.
