Child & Baby Safe Paints | Sustainable Solutions | Header | Tikkurila

When painting your kids’ room, furniture and even toys, you want to know that the paint you choose is safe for children and does not release harmful compounds even when used for an extended period.

Toy Safe Paint

Tikkurila's Helmi furniture paint has undergone testing to ensure it meets the requirement of EN 71-3:2019 Safety of Toys Mitigation of certain chemicals and has been assigned both the CE Mark and M1 classification. To receive these certifications, products must contain trace levels of any chemical or compound so as not to cause harm if ingested or inhaled. Our products adhere to the highest safety standard.

The Toy Safety Standards are part of the rigorous legislation that ensures toys are safe for children. They cover everything from the mechanical and physical properties of a toy, flammability and coatings.

The EN71-3:2019 standard tests for certain elements found within toy coatings, to make sure it will not harm a child if they put the toy in their mouth, or release anything harmful into the atmosphere. The CE Mark signifies products sold in the EEA have been assessed to meet high safety, health, and environmental protection requirements. The M1 class is for materials that emit extremely low levels of compounds into the room space.
