Exterior Wood Stain Paint Tester
Product Description
Wood stains have a natural appearance and are designed to seal and protect a wooden surface while adding a subtle, transparent colour. However, testing how colours appear in this format is difficult because the final shade is heavily dependent on the wooden surface to which they are applied.
As a natural substrate, wood comes in a variety of forms, each with the potential to react differently to being painted and therefore the final colour presentation. This is because the porosity and level of moisture can vary significantly from log to log, and so from fence to fence! The colour will also differ depending on whether it is applied to dark mahogany or light pine.
And so, we are very excited to introduce the newest addition to our tester collection: the "Colour It" exterior wood stain sample pot, which was created specifically for this challenge! These 180ml tins are tinted using the same precise process as our full size tins, ensuring guaranteed colour accuracy from the sample pot to the topcoat.
Available across a wide variety of shades from our exterior wood collection. From greys, browns and neutral tones for a natural landscape, to vibrant colour pop of blue and green - there's something to suit every personality.
How to test with Colour It Exterior Wood Stain Paint Tester:
- Stir (or shake!) your tin before application.
- Applying two to three coats and over as large an area as you can.
- Once dry, study the colour(s) in different lighting conditions (day and night).
- Don’t line up your sample swatches right next to each other (this will affect the way each reads).
