In this post, we will explore the process of a dining room renovation expertly completed by Professional decorator Lee Black. This space has been transformed from its bare bones into a warm and inviting space with the help of Tikkurila paint on a custom bookshelf and wood wall panelling.

Before

Preparation & Priming

When restoring a room, the best results come from detailed preparation. Before sanding, Lee filled in any critical imperfections in the walls and wood. This prevented further damage and provided a clean surface for the new finishes to adhere to.

To prime the bare wood of the new shelving units and wood panelling, Lee opted for Everal Aqua Primer. This water-based undercoat is perfect for interior surfaces, particularly bare wood surfaces such as doors, furniture, windows, and door frames.

Painting

With the surface perfect, primed and ready to go - it was time for the topcoat. As these wood details are in a sunlit room, an Everal Aqua topcoat was applied. Everal Aqua Matt 10 creates a matt non-yellowing topcoat, ideal for the white shade chosen for this project.

The final results were a sophisticated, inviting dining space that will stand the test of time thanks to the care taken by Lee and the hardwearing UV protection provided by Everal Aqua.
