John Penny Joinery LTD is well established as one of Scotland's leading hand-made furniture and bespoke joinery manufacturers. In this article, we'll follow them through the priming and spray painting of a custom-built MDF media unit. The team employed Intact Primer and Intact 8 topcoat to deliver a high-quality, durable finish.
Preparation & Priming
Preparation is essential before painting bare MDF. To provide a solid foundation that will adhere well to the topcoat, Intact Primer was the coating of choice. Intact Primer delivers a solid foundation for the topcoat, enhancing adhesion and ensuring a smooth, even surface.
Tikkurila's Intact range has been expertly developed with professionals in mind. It provides a high-quality solution for multiple substrates and is suitable for various fixtures, fittings, doors, windows, and other structural elements.
Painting
Once the groundwork was laid, it was time to apply the topcoat. Like the primer, the team opted for Intact 8. This topcoat offers a hard-wearing, water-based film that can withstand heavy use. The coating was applied using a spray finish with a 210 tip, allowing for a precise and consistent application.
This project achieved a professional, long-lasting finish, meeting the client's expectations. The combination of Intact products and John Penny Joinery LTD's expertise in spray painting ensured a visually appealing and durable result for this media unit.
