Now that's what we call a renovation project! The exterior of this bustling Sterling Home store has undergone a remarkable transformation, thanks to the expertise of Optimal Decorating Limited and their use of Tikkurila exterior paints. With careful product selection, they have ensured a durable, long-lasting, and premium-quality finish that will stand the test of time, while also attracting footfall to this exciting space.
Before and after

Preparation
Since the external cladding and roughcast had never been painted before, the first step involved washing down the building to eliminate any salt residues from its proximity to the North Sea. To stabilise the unpainted roughcast on the lower half, the team applied a couple of coats of Hydrosol, a water-based acrylate impregnation primer. This primer acts as a binding and stabilising agent for masonry and concrete surfaces, creating a solid foundation for the subsequent application of topcoats.
Completing these preparatory measures ensured optimal adhesion and long-lasting durability for the paintwork to come.

Painting
With the preparation phase successfully completed, Optimal Decorating Limited proceeded to apply two coats of Finngard Opaque to the cladding and roughcast, using the classic RAL Shade 7016 (also known as Anthracite Grey). This rich black-grey tone, with subtle blue undertones, adds a touch of modernity to the building's appearance.
Finngard Opaque is a premium-quality, semi-matt masonry paint renowned for its exceptional weather resistance, making it the perfect choice for an exterior shopfront. Its extended lifespan and durability will guarantee a long-lasting finish that provides low-maintenance, superior protection against the elements for many years to come.
