An office space beautifully transformed by Tikkurila customer and professional painter, Graeme Thomson. Every detail of this project was meticulously attended to, resulting in a bright and inviting meeting space that you would be proud to showcase. From the ceiling and cornice to the windows and skirting boards, each area of this interior was expertly painted using Tikkurila paints. In this article, we will delve into the specifics of this renovation, from the initial preparation to the final finishing touches.
Before and after

Preparation & Priming
The first step involved washing down the surfaces with a degreasing solution, effectively removing any dirt or grime that could hinder paint adhesion. Following this, sanding was carried out using 120-grit sandpaper to create a smooth and even surface. To achieve a finer finish, the surfaces were then sanded again using 240-grit sandpaper. Any imperfections or gaps were filled using Toupret wood filler, ensuring a uniform appearance. Caulk was applied to address any gaps or cracks, creating a seamless transition between different surfaces.
Finally, the surfaces were treated with Otex Akva Primer, a high-quality primer specifically designed for interior wooden surfaces This primer offers optimal adhesion and provides a solid foundation for the subsequent painting process, ensuring a stunning and long-lasting result.
Painting
Beginning with the ceiling and cornice, two coats of Anti Reflex paint were applied, resulting in a high-coverage, pure white appearance that enhanced the overall brightness of the room. (It's no surprise that this is our bestseller!)
Moving on to the windows, panelling, doors, architraves, and skirting boards, two coats of Helmi 10 furniture paint were applied. This premium paint choice offered a durable, matt finish, ensuring a smooth and refined look for these key elements of the space.
The room was finished with some complementary wallpaper and carpeting to complete the look.
