Can I Paint Over Silicone Sealant?

Paint does not tend to adhere to silicone sealant. You can make paints cover by using an appropriate primer but it is not possible to guarantee long term results. It can depend on the type of silicone used and results can vary from case to case. For that reason, we recommend conducting a trial section first.

If you do wish to proceed our Otex Adhesion Primer will give the best results. It can then be topcoated with a product relevant to the substrate underneath.
